Building Parts
The Building Parts section lets you define the construction elements like walls, roof, floors, and their insulation characteristics.
Enter the following information:

The Main Dwelling section is expanded by default.

Select the Construction Age Band* dropdown, then select the age band such as 1950-1966 or 2012 onwards.

Under Floor select the Heat Loss dropdown, then select the type of flooring heat loss such as Exposed or Semi-Exposed to Unheated Space.

Under Floor Dimensions select Floor Dimension 1 to expand it:

Select the Floor dropdown, then select the appliable floor such as Lowest Occupied or Lowest +1.

Enter the Total Floor Area.

Enter the Room Height.
-
Enter the Heat Loss Perimeter.

Enter the Party Wall Length.

Select the Floor Construction dropdown, then select either Unknown, Solid, Suspended Timber, or Suspended, Not Timber.

Select the Floor Insulation dropdown, then select either Unknown, As Built, or Retro-Fitted.

Select Add Floor Dimension to add another floor dimension, select the new Floor Dimension to expand it and enter all relevant information.

Under Walls:
-
Select the Wall Construction dropdown, then select what the wall is constructed from such as, Solid Brick or Timber Frame.

Select the Party Wall Construction dropdown, then select what the party wall is constructed from such as, Filled Cavity or Unable to Determine.

Select the Wall Thickness Measured toggle to state whether the wall thickness has been measured. This determines whether the Wall Thickness [mm] field is enabled or not.

Enter the Wall Thickness [mm], if the field is enabled.

Select the Wall Insulation Type dropdown, then select type of wall insulation such as, Filled Cavity or Internal.

Enter the Wall U-Value [W/(m²K)].

Select the Wall Dry-Lined or Lath and Plaster toggle to state whether the wall is dry-lined or lath and plaster or not.

Under Alternative Wall, select the Alternative Wall toggle to show the following:

Enter the Wall Area.

Select the Wall Construction dropdown, then select what the wall is constructed from such as, Solid Brick or Timber Frame.

Select the Wall Insulation Type dropdown, then select the type of wall insulation such as, External or Filled Cavity.

Select the Wall Thickness Measured toggle to state whether the wall thickness has been measured. This determines whether the Wall Thickness [mm] field is enabled or not.

Enter the Wall Thickness [mm], if the field is enabled.

Enter the Wall U-Value [W/(m²K)].

Select the Sheltered Wall toggle to state whether the wall is sheltered or not.

Under Roof:
-
Select the Roof Construction dropdown, then select the type of roof construction such as, Pitched Access To Loft or Flat.

Select the Roof Insulation Thickness dropdown, then select the thickness of the roof insulation such as, As Built or 12 mm.

Enter the Roof U-Value [W/(m²K)].

Under Room in Roof:
-
Select the Roof Room Age Band dropdown, then select the age band of the roof room such as 1950-1966 or 2012 onwards.

Enter the Room Roof Floor Area.

Enter the Roof Room U-Value [W/(m²K)].

Select the Roof Room Insulation dropdown, then select the insulation of the roof room such as, As Built or All Elements 50mm.

Select the Roof Rooms Connect toggle to state whether there are any connected roof rooms.

Enter the Flat Ceiling Area 1 [m²].

Enter the Flat Ceiling U-Value 1 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Sloping Ceiling Area 1 [m²].

Enter the Sloping Ceiling U-Value 1 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Stud Wall Area 1 [m²].
-
Enter the Stud Wall U-Value1 [W/(m²K)].
-
Enter the Gable Wall Area 1 [m²].
-
Enter the Gable Wall U-Value1 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Flat Ceiling Area 2 [m²].

Enter the Flat Ceiling U-Value 2 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Sloping Ceiling Area 2 [m²].

Enter the Sloping Ceiling U-Value 2 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Stud Wall Area 2 [m²].

Enter the Stud Wall U-Value2 [W/(m²K)].

Enter the Gable Wall Area 2 [m²].

Enter the Gable Wall U-Value2 [W/(m²K)].

Select Add New Extension to add the building details for a new extension. Enter all the appliable information for the new extension.
