Appointment Slot Templates

Appointment Slots define ranges of times in which Optimise schedules Jobs and Resources must arrive at specified locations. For example, you want to have a morning appointment slot of 8am-12am and an afternoon appointment slot of 1pm-5pm. You then create Jobs specifying what appointment slots are required.

Create Appointment Slot Templates in Optimise Admin to separate and organise Appointment Slots per World for different teams or contracts. For example, you have three Worlds, which are community nursing, social care and mental health. Each of the Worlds and departments have multiple contracts with different Appointment Slots and requirements. In Optimise Admin you create multiple Appointment Slot Templates with different Appointment Slots suited to each of your Worlds and contracts. For example, you create both full-time contract and part-time contract community health Appointment Slot Templates. You then assign multiple Appointment Slot Templates to your Worlds and can select which Appointment Slot Template you want to use before you schedule Jobs into Appointment Slots in the Appointment Booker.

Appointment Slot Templates enable you to focus on how much capacity there is for Resources to meet specific Appointment Slots, rather than all Appointment Slots. For example, you schedule Jobs into Appointment Slots for a part-time community health worker contract. You select the part-time community health Appointment Slot Template, which only shows you the capacity to meet Appointments which occur during the part-time contract hours.

Refer to the Configure Worlds: Assign Appointment Slot Templates section for more information on assigning Appointment Slot Templates to Worlds.

Users can add tolerances to Appointment Start and End times, enabling resources to start Jobs before specified Start Times and finish Jobs after specified End Times. Refer to the Appointments section in Mendel Settings Definitions for information on Appointment Start Tolerance / Appointment End Tolerance.
