Referrals Workflow

As part of the setup, a referrals workflow can be defined within Referral Management (Carelink). The referrals workflow outlines the possible pathways referrals can take once they are created in the system. It helps Referral Management users to know the status of their referrals and make the right decisions for delivering the care.

There are default statuses and a workflow defined when setting up the system. However, more statuses and a different workflow can be defined in accordance with the business process. The most important status in the workflow is the Live state which allows visits to be dispatched to Dynamic Scheduling (Optimise).

Default Referral Statuses

  • New - when the referral is created in the system.

  • Live - when the referral and care plan are ready to deliver, and visits will be dispatched to Dynamic Scheduling.

  • Closed - when the referral no longer requires care.
