Lone Worker Protection - Release 9.40
Release Date: April 2026
We have been enhancing Lone Worker Protection (Protect) since the last release, adding new features and addressing known issues to improve quality.
Some features may require additional setup by Totalmobile. If needed, reach out to your Account Manager for access details.
These Release Notes cover the following:
What's New
- PROT-793 – SMS Notification for Low Battery
It is now possible for the system to send an SMS message to a person when their GPS Device has a low battery. This is a default message and can’t be customised per customer. Sent notification messages can be viewed by opening the Person page within their Site and selecting Received Messages. This feature is not enabled by default and charges may apply.
- PROT-765 – Exclude Portal Users from Dashboard and People Usage Report
Portal only users can now be excluded from the Activity Dashboard and the Person Usage Report. People who have a website login but do not have an Alert Call Profile or a Worker Down Profile are considered to be portal only users. By default, these people will not be included in the information shown on the Activity Dashboard. This feature can be deactivated if required. By default, the Exclude Portal Only Users box will be selected on entry to the Person Usage Report.
- PROT-686 – Management Portal MFA via Authenticator App
The login page in the Management Portal has been enhanced to allow two factor authentication by entry of a timed one-time password generated by an Authenticator App. We support the Microsoft Authenticator app version 6.2 and above, however other apps with a TOTP facility will work. If this feature is enabled on the Website Login Policy assigned to your Site, you will be offered the chance to add an entry to your Authenticator app by taking a photograph of a QR code when you next log in and two factor authentication is due.
- PROT-256 & 281 – Open Alert Information Transferred Back to Management Portal
When an operator returns an open alert to the queue or places the alert on hold, the following information will be uploaded to the Management Portal and be viewable on the Alert Manager Report. Previously data was only uploaded when an alert was closed but this now provides alert information updates during active alarms.

- PROT-757 – Group Alert Hierarchy Restriction

- PROT-686 – ARC Reports Site MFA via Authenticator App (ARC Only)
The login page in the ARC Reports site has been enhanced to allow two factor authentication by entry of a timed one-time password generated by an Authenticator App. As per above.

The ARC Reports site now includes a download of all operator activity which will detail which operators performed actions on alarms that were processed in the Web Alert Manager.
