Manage Service User Settings

Use the Admin > Service User Settings page to configure the type of service user ID to be used in referrals.

Configure Service User ID

To configure the service user ID:

1. Select the Admin tab.

2. From the navigation menu, select Service User Settings.

   The Service User ID Settings page appears.

3. Select the Select Service User ID Format field, and select one of the following from the dropdown:

   • NHS / CHI No – NHS number (England/Wales) or CHI number (Scotland). This is the default option. Use this for UK-based referrals.

   • Service User ID – use this for referrals outside the UK.

4. Select Save.

When you update this setting, the relevant fields in the user interface are updated accordingly. When Service User ID is selected, Referral Management validates IDs for uniqueness, but does not validate the ID format.
