About Configuration

The Configuration section is only available to you if your role has the Editor permission. To learn more see Configuring Roles.

The Configuration section is the central administration area within Field First Hub, providing authorised users with the tools to manage users and roles across the Field First platform.

Configuration is designed to manage platform-level access within Field First. It controls who can access Field First Hub and which applications are available to users. It does not control permissions or functionality within individual applications, as these are managed separately within each application.

The Users page enables you to manage the user lifecycle across the platform. This is particularly useful for organisations that do not use Active Directory, federated authentication, or SCIM-based user provisioning.

The Roles page enables you to create and manage the roles that determine platform access and application availability.

Configuration manages access to the Field First platform and applications, but it does not govern permissions within those applications. For example, a role may grant access to Asset Management, but the user's ability to perform actions within Asset Management is controlled by permissions configured inside that application.

Key capabilities of the Configuration section include:

  • Centralised user administration across the Field First platform.

  • Direct user creation and bulk user import.

  • User lifecycle management and status tracking.

  • Cross-application user synchronisation.

  • Role-based access control for applications and platform services.

  • Viewer and Editor permission levels.

  • Individual and bulk role assignment.

  • Platform-wide access management from a single location.

In summary, the Configuration section serves as the administrative control centre for Field First Hub. It enables you to manage users, assign roles, and control access to Field First applications from a single location, ensuring secure and efficient administration across the platform.
