Automatic Appointment Booking

Instead of including a specific Appointment Slot date and times for every Job you send into Optimise Schedule, you can specify Appointment Slot Templates, which enables Mendel to automatically schedule and appoint Jobs in the most efficient way possible.

Benefit from Automatic Appointment Booking when you send a batch of Jobs into Optimise Schedule Worlds and you want to apply unchangeable Appointment times to Jobs (e.g. because of contractual reasons) on a regular basis without affecting separate non-Appointed Jobs, which Mendel dynamically reschedules in reactive circumstances. For example, your department manages the cyclical maintenance of gas boilers. You need to appoint inspections for boilers two weeks in advance because you need to notify tenants via letter and email. Your department receives notification of around 50 gas boilers a day which require inspections/Appointments.

Your department also has a backlog of Jobs which do not require Appointments and which also have less priority than the boiler inspections that require Appointments. Automatic Appointment Booking and Mendel enable you to simultaneously secure Appointment Slots for Jobs which require commitments on a nightly basis so you can notify tenants and also continually schedule Jobs in the backlog which are more flexible.

Prerequisites for Automatic Appointment Booking

  1. Totalmobile server 6.5.

  2. The following Permissions:

    • Optimise - Appointment Slot Templates

    • Optimise World(s) - Background Job Settings, Optimise Schedule and Mendel Settings.

  3. Appointment Slot Template(s). Refer to the Appointment Slot Templates section of the Optimise Admin user guide for more information.

  4. Assign Appointment Slot Templates to Worlds. Refer to the thee Worlds: Assign Appointment Slot Templates section of the Optimise Admin user guide for more information.

  5. Enable/edit the following Automatic Appointment Booking Background Job Settings:

    • Background Process

    • Time

  6. Enable the following Initialisation Strategies Mendel Settings:

    • Ordered by Target End

    • Rolling Initialisation and also enable the Time Restriction Metric.
